So you may have noticed a lack of posts from me. I have to be honest, I didn't want to fess up to my failure. I fell off the sugar-free bandwagon, and hard! Don't get me wrong, it felt great to be off the sugar, but I got sick and sugar was easier to consume than avoid at the time.
And from there, it spiraled. We're talking binge eating the junk that I love. So why am I telling you all about it now? Because I want to be honest about my experiences here and let you know that I, in no way, feel like I failed.
Of course I was frustrated with myself when I started back on the sugar. And I hated feeling out of control of it again. But sugar has been a big part of my diet and my life for forever. Habits that engrained, especially that also have a physical response component, don't just stop overnight. I'm human, not Super Woman, and I was bound to hit setbacks.
Success isn't about achieving your goal on the first try, it's about not giving up on the goal. So yes, I relapsed on the sugar, but every day I try again and every food choice I make I am now really thinking about the sugar content and whether or not it's worth it.
If you stumble along the way to your goal, get right back up! The only failure is giving up. My name is Amanda K and I am a sugar addict. I have relapsed, but I'm still determined to break my addiction.
